B4 Viscosity Cup Ford Cup Viscometer IS 3944

Service Overview

Compliance Standard : IS 3944 – Method for determination of viscosity of paints by Ford viscosity cup, Equivalent to ASTM D1200 (Ford Cup No. 4), Suitable for quality control and comparative viscosity testing.
Application : The B4 Viscosity Cup, also known as the Ford Cup Viscometer, is used for the determination of kinematic viscosity of paints, varnishes, lacquers, enamels, printing inks, resins, and other Newtonian or near-Newtonian liquids.
It is widely employed in paint manufacturing units, quality control laboratories, R&D labs, and coating industries for routine viscosity measurement and process control.

Product Description : The B4 Viscosity Cup consists of a precision-machined brass cup with a calibrated orifice mounted on a rigid vertical stand with a stable base. The test is conducted by measuring the time taken (in seconds) for a fixed volume of liquid to flow through the standard orifice under gravity at a controlled temperature. The apparatus ensures repeatable, reliable, and easy viscosity measurement with minimal operator skill.
