Compliance Standard : ASTM D36 / D36M, AASHTO T53, IP 58, 198, IS 1205-1958, NF T 66-008.
Application : Bituminous materials, Petroleum asphalt, coal pitch, and various asphalts, Thermoplastic adhesives, resins, plastics, paraffin wax, rubber, and grease (depending on the specific standard), Evaluating the consistency and temperature susceptibility of bituminous binders used in road construction and other applications.
Product Description : The ring and ball apparatus determines the temperature at which a material (like bitumen) softens enough to allow a steel ball of specific dimensions to fall a required distance under test conditions. The sample is cast into shouldered rings and heated at a controlled rate while under the weight of a steel ball.
