Description :- Dropping Point : It is the temperature at which the grease passes from a semi—solid to a liquid state under Controlled conditions of test. It is a numerical value assigned to a grease composition representing a corrected temperature at which the first drop of material falls from the test-cup and reaches the bottom of the test-tube. A grease sample in a grease test-cup is supported in a test-tube placed in an aluminium block oven at a preset Constant temp. A Sample thermometer is placed inside the tube and so positioned that it measures the temp. in the sample cup without coming in contact with the grease.
