1. Application
Formaldehyde solution is widely used in:
- Histopathology & cytology laboratories (tissue fixation – 10% neutral buffered formalin)
- Disinfection and sterilization applications
- Embalming fluid preparation
- Resin and polymer manufacturing
- Chemical synthesis intermediate
- Textile and leather processing
- Water treatment (biocide use)
- Pharmaceutical and research laboratories
2. Compliance Standard
(Grade dependent)
- AR / ACS Grade
- ISO 9001 certified manufacturing
- USP / BP / EP grade (where specified)
- IS 3321 (Indian Standard for Formaldehyde solution, where applicable)
- OSHA / GHS classification compliant labeling
- REACH compliant (where applicable)
3. Product Description
Formaldehyde is a clear, colorless, pungent-smelling aqueous solution of formaldehyde gas in water, commonly stabilized with 10–15% methanol to prevent polymerization.
Commercial product is often referred to as Formalin (37–41%).
It is completely miscible with water and alcohol.
