Formaldehyde

Service Overview

1. Application

Formaldehyde solution is widely used in:

  • Histopathology & cytology laboratories (tissue fixation – 10% neutral buffered formalin)
  • Disinfection and sterilization applications
  • Embalming fluid preparation
  • Resin and polymer manufacturing
  • Chemical synthesis intermediate
  • Textile and leather processing
  • Water treatment (biocide use)
  • Pharmaceutical and research laboratories

2. Compliance Standard

(Grade dependent)

  • AR / ACS Grade
  • ISO 9001 certified manufacturing
  • USP / BP / EP grade (where specified)
  • IS 3321 (Indian Standard for Formaldehyde solution, where applicable)
  • OSHA / GHS classification compliant labeling
  • REACH compliant (where applicable)

3. Product Description

Formaldehyde is a clear, colorless, pungent-smelling aqueous solution of formaldehyde gas in water, commonly stabilized with 10–15% methanol to prevent polymerization.

Commercial product is often referred to as Formalin (37–41%).

It is completely miscible with water and alcohol.
