Description :- The apparatus is used to measure to measure ability of grease to separate oil during storage. A cylindrical column of grease resting on a metal gauze cone is subjected to fixed pressure in excess to hydrostatic pressure of grease. The quantity of oil separated through gauze after standing for 42 hours or 168 hours at 40°C is taken as the measure of the ability of grease towards oil separation during storage.
