Description :- The instrument is used to measure ability of Petroleum or Synthetic oils to separate from water. A test Specimen consisting of 40ml sample and 40ml distilled water are stirred for 5 mins in a 100ml graduated cylinder at 54°C or 82°C depending upon Viscosity of test specimen. It has Capacity to test 4 samples at a time. Variable speed motor with 1500 rpm is provided maintain constant stirring rate. PID Temp. Controller with resolution 0.1°C to accurately maintain temp inside the bath. Flexible CFL Lighting arrangement is provided for easy inspection of the sample. If complete separation or emulsion reduction to 3ml or less does not occur after standing for 30 minutes or some specification time limit, the volumes of Oil, Water and Emulsion remaining at that time are reported.
